Welcome Sarah Caruso

Twin Cities Compass welcomes Sarah Caruso, president and CEO of Greater Twin Cities United Way, to our Governance Committee. At United Way, Sarah works with donors, volunteers, public policy leaders, and agency partners. She is also the current chair of the Council on Early Care and Education, appointed by Governor Pawlenty at the Council's inception in December 2008. Most recently, Sarah served as president of Minnesota Children's Museum (2004-2009). "We are excited Sarah will be joining the Twin Cities Compass Governance committee," says Paul Mattessich, executive director of Wilder Research and director of Compass. "Her expertise and vision will bring a lot of value and visibility to the initiative."

Welcome MayKao Hang

Twin Cities Compass welcomes MayKao Hang, president of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation, to our Governance Committee. MayKao became the 6th president of the Wilder Foundation in June. Prior to that, MayKao was the Foundation's Director of Children's and Family Services, and before that she had served as Director of Adult Services for Ramsey County Human Services and as the Director of Resident Services for the St. Paul Public Housing Agency.

"MayKao’s fresh approach to leadership of the Wilder Foundation and her strong commitment to residents in our region will strengthen the techniques which Wilder Research has used to make Compass relevant, respected, and effective for improving the quality of life of our many, diverse communities," says Paul Mattessich, executive director of Wilder Research and director of Twin Cities Compass.

Welcome Marsha Shotley

Twin Cities Compass welcomes Marsha Shotley, vice president of board and community relations at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, and president of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation. Shotley also oversees the advancement of Blue Cross' social responsibility values through the corporate community affairs department, which promotes employee volunteerism and community involvement efforts for the corporation.

"It has been exciting to work with Marsha on the social inequities of health in the Twin Cities," says Paul Mattessich, executive director of Wilder Research and director of Twin Cities Compass. "Her perspective will add greatly to the work we do at Compass on a broader level."

Welcome Robin Torgerson

Twin Cities Compass welcomes Robin Torgerson, vice president of Community Affairs, 3M, to our Governance Committee. Robin replaces Alex Cirillo. Prior to taking on her current role, Robin was at the Industrial Market Center, Industrial and Transportation Business for 3M, where she served as Channel Director. Prior to that, she was Business Director of Industrial and Transportation Business Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Brussels, Belgium. "The involvement and leadership of 3M has been invaluable to the Compass project from the very beginning," says Paul Mattessich, executive director of Wilder Research and director of the Twin Cities Compass project.
