Alcohol-related injuries
The number of alcohol-related injuries and cost of alcohol-related crashes and injuries, available for all 87 Minnesota counties from 1996 to the present, through the Minnesota County Health Tables. Click on the year of interest, then click on the section titled "Chemical Health". You can use the population numbers in the Minnesota Compass Demographics section to calculate the incidence rates for the 7-county metro area.

Births
Annual data available through the Minnesota County Health Tables, Minnesota Department of health for all 87 counties. Data available on birth outcomes, preterm births, teen birth and pregnancy rates, infant mortality, obstetric procedures, family planning. Click on “Natality” table.

Blood lead data
The percentage of children tested for high blood lead levels is available for all 87 Minnesota counties from 1995 to the present. Click on "Minnesota Blood Lead Surveillance Data Tables".

Cancer Surveillance System
The Minnesota Cancer Surveillance System (MCSS) is the state's cancer registry at the Minnesota Department of Health. The MCSS systematically collects demographic and diagnostic information on all Minnesota residents with newly-diagnosed cancers. The MCSS produces biennial reports describing the occurrence of cancer, as well as various epidemiology and quality control reports.

Children with Special Health Care Needs
Annual data available for all Minnesota counties about children with special health care needs, young children receiving Early Intervention Services, and children eligible for SSI or TEFRA due to disability status. Click on County Health Tables, then on Children With Special Health Needs.

Chronic disease statistics
Current statistics on asthma, cancer, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, Lyme's disease and stroke are available through the Minnesota Department of Health.

Deaths
The number of deaths due to natural causes, suicide and violence, available for all 87 counties, from 1996 to the present through the Minnesota County Health Tables. Immunization rate for children (by age 2)
View the MIIC Statistics to find out what percentage of Minnesota's 2-year-olds receive basic immunization coverage. Data available by county. Additional statistics on childhood immunization rates are also available.

Occupational fatalities and days missed due to nonfatal injuries
Occupational fatalities by age, race, gender and income available for 2003 to the present. Incidence rates of days missed due to nonfatal injuries and illnesses available for 1996 to the present. Data available for all 50 states.

Prenatal care
Percentage of Minnesota women receiving "adequate or better" prenatal care during the first trimester of pregnancy. Data available for all 87 Minnesota counties from 1996 to the present through the Minnesota County Health Tables. Click on the year of interest and then click on the section titled "Natality".

STD rates for sexually active adults and youth
Number of Sexually Transmitted Disease cases and incidence rates available by place of residence, age, race and gender from 1999 to the present.

Tobacco use among teens
The Minnesota Student Survey (MSS) is administered every three years to students in grades 6, 9 and 12. It asks questions about a variety of behaviors, including tobacco use. Data is available by state, region and county for 2004 and 2007.

Behavioral Risk Factors Surveillance System
Find trend data on adult tobacco use, alcohol consumption, physical activity and other health behaviors. Data from 2002 to the present available for all metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) that participated in the study, including the 13-county metro area.

Health Care Cost Information System data
Use these Standard Hospital Reports to find data on admissions, beds, charges, revenues and more. Data available from 1996 to the present by county and city for all Minnesota hospitals.

Hennepin County health statistics
Contains frequently requested statistics for Hennepin County residents, including data on topics such as teen pregnancy and birth, child well-being indicators, senior health issues, and health disparities. Also links to Check out Hennepin County HealthCHARTS,  an interactive tool for retrieving health data and trends.

Hennepin County, SHAPE
SHAPE, the Survey of the Health of All the Population, and the Environment, is an ongoing joint public health surveillance and assessment project of the Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department to survey and report on the health of children and adults in Hennepin County. Contains tools to interact with the data, fact sheets and briefings, and a Body Mass Index calculator.

Metro public health data dashboard
A product of the Minnesota Counties Data Collaborative, the Data Planners’ Dashboard allows you to view various public health data by geographic region (city, county, or metro area) or by a specific indicator. Includes tables, charts and maps on topics such as chlamydia, infant mortality, suicide, homicide, teen pregnancy, prenatal care, etc., for the 7-county metro area and Olmsted County.

Minnesota Student Survey
The Minnesota Student Survey (MSS) is administered every three years to students in grades 6, 9 and 12. It asks questions about a variety of attitudes, including feelings about school and perceptions of school safety. The survey also asks questions about health and drug use behaviors. Data are available by state, region and county for 2004 and 2007.

Substance use in Minnesota
Provides data on 70 indicators relating to the consumption and consequences of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs in Minnesota. Data are provided at the county level, and by race/ethnicity at the state and regional level whenever possible.
