"Minnesota Compass’s data ... add credibility to 'anecdotal stories' that many people who are hard data minded wouldn’t believe if I couldn’t back it up with numbers."

  1. Describe the work you do. I’m an Equity, Inclusion, & Diversity Leader at a healthcare organization.
  2. How do you use data in your work? I use data extensively to tell important data stories.  We use qualitative indicators of equity and inclusion stories that come up and interrogate to confirm or deny things quantitatively.
  3. How have you used Minnesota Compass data? I use MN Compass data to emulate the regions of Minnesota that contain our healthcare organization and to learn about the demographics that exist in our current workforce and to predict what will be happening in coming years with our workforce.
  4. How does Minnesota Compass add value to your work? Minnesota Compass’s data tools allow me to choose a unique area that matches where our organization exists, adds credibility to “anecdotal stories” that many people who are hard data minded wouldn’t believe if I couldn’t back it up with numbers.
